ReflectionFrom the beginning of the project that Chris was starting the project I knew how to draw for a long time so I had the experience to complete this project. Chris explained to all of us the 6 elements of art, a lot of them were easy like line, texture, color, and shape. So after the mini lesson I started to sketch my first idea for Line, I wasn't exactly sure what I would do for Line so I just started making lines.
Afterwards I got my feed back from a student in class and I improves the quality of the lines, the quality of the swirls I did. After I sketched my second draft I got more feedback, I added more shapes in the empty spots, added more color, added more swirls. Then I repeated it onto the cube and I was finish. The next day Chris told us the second element of art Shape, So after chris gave his mini lesson I started my first sketch. I began to draw an eye with a mixture of several colors, however it took to long and didn't finish. After feedback I began the drawing of triangles for my second draft, I was gonna include the eye but it was crooked i erased it, however I didn't finish. After I got feedback on the second drawing, I stuck with the same idea of adding triangles so I drew a bunch of random straight lines and began forming triangles then coloring in the inside of the triangles. The next day Chris showed us the next element Space, I was really confused on how space worked so I pulled up an image on google for space and began to draw it, however it took to long to draw. After I got feed back I still didn't understand space, so I drew the same idea. I still got feed back, however I wanted to know what space was so I asked Chris. Eventually I understood space and began to draw a cross for some reason, but it good approved so it didn't matter much. The next day Chris explained the next element Color right away I got an idea and drew colors of the 3 main colors |
Line
Line is the element that is a mark with a greater length than the with. These lines can either be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, straight, curved, thick or thin. Shape Shape is the element that is a closed line. These shapes can be drawn geometrical, like squares or circles, organic free form or natural shapes. Shapes can also be flat that can express it's length and width. Space Space is the element of shading between, and around areas. The space shading around objects is called negative space and this negative space is used to form a shape. Space has another meaning to referring to a feeling of depth. A real space is a three-dimensional which in visual art, when we make the feeling of illusion that is depth, we call space. Color Color is the element that is light reflects off of objects. Color has these three main colors: red, blue yellow. It's value is how light/dark the color is, and the intensity of how bright/dull the color is. Texture Texture is the element of quality that is seen and felt from the object. There are all sorts of textures that could be rough, smooth, soft or hard. These textures don't always feel the way the objects looks, such as a drawing of a peanut it may look like a rough shell, however once you touch the paper it's smooth. Value Value is the element of how well the shading of the paper is, for example the shading of black then slowly gets lighter to a gray. |
